about

Each of us have stories. I believe that our "stories" are what our lives are built of. Call them life experiences is you want, we all have them. This is a song about the TRUE story of how my wife's grandma and grandpa met, fell in love, and were married. The photo the accompanies this posting is a photo of the actual couple and their first two children. We wrote this song for a family reunion.

lyrics

She was the new girl, the talk of the town.
He was an old hand at getting around.
He had those flash-in eyes; an unforgettable chin.
Somehow she new with his eyes of blue, she would marry him.

He'd heard about her, from an old friend.
He knew he'd love her right to the end.
She always made him smile with all of her rhymes.
He was so sure their love would endure till the end of time.

And when he played his mandolin,
She'd fall in love with him again.
They'd sing of love and life,
While playing his mandolin.

He built their old home with his bare hands.
Even as lovers they remained friends.
Those were some hard times but their love was so strong.
They took a chance on life's romance; it lasted long.

And with the children grown and grand kids around.
He knew he'd never known a sweeter sound;
Than when she called his name, for the very first time.
He'd sing that song and she'd hum along just like in old times.

When he would play the mandolin,
She'd fall in love with him again.
They'd sing of love and life,
When he played his mandolin.

And when he played the mandolin,
She'd fall in love with him again.
They'd sing of love and life,
While playing...his mandolin.
