I travel a lot for my "real job". I have to leave my sweet wife home. I probably miss her more than she misses me. :) This song is about my longing to be home when I am on the road and the things I miss most.
lyrics
It's good to be home. God knows I've missed you.
When I'm on the road, I've turned to kiss you.
But your not there and I'm all alone.
Every night when I say my prayers, I'm thinking of home.
It's good to be home in this mountain valley.
I missed my friends but mostly my family.
I love the children and the grand kids too.
But most of all, it seems to me, that I miss you
I miss the smile in your eyes when I'm away.
I miss the funny things you do, everyday.
When you kneel down by our bed and slowly bow your head;
That's the time when I am sure I'm not alone.
It's good to be home.
It's good to be home. I'm sitting here in my old chair
This house made of stone; it's better than anywhere.
Surrounded be memories and the blessings too.
Whenever I'm home, I'm never along cause I have you...
You are the one who turns my night back into days.
You hold my heart in your hand.
Every now and then, there's nothing for me to say.
Except that I'll always be your man.
Now it's time. I'm boarding that silver wing.
You're standing there crying. It's tugging on my heart strings
But I gotta go. Back on the road.
God I swear...
I'm coming home again.
I'm coming home again.
I'm coming home again.
